This is my first Porsche. I’ve had this 1999 Carrera 996 Cabriolet almost 10 years and love it. I bought it through a Porsche dealership in “as is” condition and discovered after I bought the car that the 1999 came with a removeable hardtop; which the dealership did not include in the package. I was able to contact the previous owner to discuss maintenance history; if he had changed the IMS bearing, etc. We had a nice discussion; he told me that he had loved driving the car when he owned it and that he had only regular maintenance done to the car. During the conversation, he tells me that he has the hardtop in storage and would I like to have it? I agreed; we met at his storage facility; put the hard top on the car together; took a photo together next to the car and parted ways. I have many years of “Smilage” on the winding roads of the Hudson Valley, New York; and look forward to continuing enjoying the ride in this “Classic” car !!!
